Three Electricity Canada members are recognized for outstanding performance in integrating sustainability into each and every aspect of their business.
The Sustainable Electricity Awards are given to companies in the electricity sector who have achieved the high-level goals of sustainable development and corporate responsibility. At the fifth annual Powering Partnerships awards Electricity Canada is pleased to honour the following utilities with their innovative projects:
Commitment to Continuous Performance Improvement through Projects, Programs, and Initiatives – SaskPower
This award is given to a company that has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability performance improvement through new projects, programs, and initiatives. SaskPower has shown their commitment through their Advancing Women in Trades, Advancing Women in Leadership, and Indigenous Recruitment and Retention projects.
Advancement of an Integrated Approach to Sustainability – ENMAX
This award is given to a company that has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an integrated sustainability strategy within the company. ENMAX’s Environmental, Social and Governance Framework continues to guide the company forward to create safe, sustainable and affordable electricity for years to come.
Leadership in External Collaboration and Partnerships – Hydro One
This award is given to a company with a strong commitment to external collaboration and partnerships with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and other stakeholders. Hydro One created a First Nations Equity model that will transform the benefits of infrastructure development for First Nations communities for generations to come.
