Ontario Energy Board Approves ERTH Corporation’s Acquisition of Westario Power and Merger with Tillsonburg Hydro

October 19, 2026

ERTH Corporation is pleased to announce that the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has approved its applications to acquire Westario Power Inc. and merge with Tillsonburg Hydro Inc., paving the way for the organizations to move forward with the transactions.

In its decision, the OEB concluded that both transactions satisfy its “no harm” test and are not expected to adversely affect customer prices, reliability, service quality or financial viability.

Once completed, the transactions will expand ERTH’s electricity distribution operations to approximately 60,000 customers across 31 communities in seven counties, strengthening its ability to deliver safe, reliable and affordable electricity service.

“We are pleased to welcome Westario Power, Tillsonburg Hydro and their employees to the ERTH group of companies,” said Chris White, President and CEO of ERTH Corporation. “Bringing our organizations together provides greater resources and expertise to meet the changing needs of our customers and communities. It strengthens our ability to invest in infrastructure, technology and our people while maintaining the local presence and relationships that are fundamental to our core values.”

For customers, there will be no immediate changes. Westario Power and Tillsonburg Hydro will continue operating under their existing names and separate electricity distribution licences during the transition, with ERTH Power branding gradually introduced. Customers should continue to pay their electricity bills as usual and can expect the same reliable service, customer support and outage response.

ERTH is committed to maintaining a strong local presence across its expanded service territory, including Westario Power’s administration office, operations facility and local staff in Walkerton.

As part of the Tillsonburg Hydro transaction, the Town of Tillsonburg will become ERTH Corporation’s tenth municipal shareholder, joining the nine municipalities that currently own the company.

With regulatory approval now received, ERTH will work toward closing both transactions. Customers and employees will be kept informed as plans progress.
