ATCO Electric Fined $3M after AUC Investigation

News broke over the weekend that, following an investigation by Alberta Utilities Commission, ATCO Electric has been fined $3 million in fines for misleading the AUC on its costs on two projects. They will also have to refund $4 million in unearned rate increases.

This latest development follows a $31 million fine issued in 2023, ATCO also had to refund the AESO approximately $16 million over Jasper powerline project.
