Hubbell Canada Pedestal Line Supports Customized Above-Ground Network Termination Points
Hubbell Canada’s PenCell® above grade enclosure and pedestal line provides network operators and OSP contractors with a flexible, domestically manufactured solution for housing active and passive fiber and coaxial equipment at above-ground network termination points.

The High Impact LDPE Pedestal series ranges from 8” to 24” × 36” dog house configurations and is offered with vented dome options specifically designed for CATV distribution equipment and active FTTH devices including optical network terminals (ONTs), amplifiers, and fiber distribution points that require ventilation to manage heat dissipation. Locking options accommodate utility and operator security requirements, and all units incorporate stainless steel hardware for corrosion resistance. Custom molded labeling is available, allowing operators to brand or identify units with network segment designations, asset tags, or operator logos directly in the enclosure body.
The High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pedestal variant uses structural foam HDPE construction for enhanced rigidity and durability. At a combined base and pedestal weight of 26 lbs. (11.7 kg), the unit remains manageable for single-person installation without lifting equipment. Bell-jar flood protection is integrated into the design, and stainless-steel captive bolt hardware prevents hardware loss during field access — a practical feature for pedestals in high-traffic service areas requiring frequent technician visits.
Both pedestal types are made in the USA and are designed to accommodate the customization demands of modern FTTx network architectures, where termination point designs can vary significantly by operator, region, and application.
