Neetu Garcha, Project Lead of Grid Innovation at Alectra Utilities’ Green Energy and Technology (GRE&T) Centre, has been named a 2025 Emerging Leader by Canada’s Clean50. This prestigious recognition highlights Neetu’s outstanding contributions to climate action and her leadership in advancing electrification of transportation.
“Neetu’s achievements at Alectra Utilities demonstrates her commitment to driving Canada’s clean energy future,” said Brian Bentz, President and CEO of Alectra Inc. “Her leadership in electrification has not only benefited our customers but have also inspired others to embrace sustainable practices.”
As an emerging leader in the clean energy sector, Neetu has played a key role in driving Alectra’s e-mobility efforts and sustainable energy solutions. She led the AlectraDrive @Work program, which resulted in the installation of 34 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, facilitating over 15,800 charging sessions and reducing peak demand by 68 per cent during energy conservation events. Neetu collaborated closely with partners from the City of Markham and City of Mississauga who hosted the service, demonstrating diligence and creativity in collecting test data. She also worked with multiple technology partners to successfully operate two distinct Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS).
“Neetu Garcha was chosen after rigourous screening and research by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors, and was among Honourees selected from an initial pool of well over 1,000 well qualified nominees,” said Gavin Pitchford, CEO of Delta Management Group.
The Canada’s Clean50 Emerging Leader Award, presented by Delta Management Group, recognizes the top 20 individuals under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to advancing sustainability in Canada. Neetu will join other honourees at the Clean50 Summit 14.0 in Toronto on October 10, where she will collaborate with other leaders in the field to address critical sustainability challenges facing Canada.
