The Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) is proud to launch a new conference series this spring. Each CanREA Summit will be unique, offering a deep, focused and specialized dive into topics relevant to a particular region of Canada, such as energy storage in Alberta, achieving carbon neutrality in Quebec and financing the development of renewable energy across Canada.

Net-Zero Quebec will serve as a hub for discussions on such important topics as:
  • Spearheading the energy transition with sustainable investments
  • Combatting climate change through government incentives
  • Implementing Hydro-Québec’s Action Plan 2035 to procure as much as 200 TWh of renewable energy by 2050
  • Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Getting to net zero in Quebec’s buildings, industry and transportation sector

The Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) is pleased to see that Hydro-Québec’s “Action Plan 2035: Towards a Decarbonized and Prosperous Quebec,” which was released recently, plans to significantly increase the deployment of renewable energy to decarbonize Quebec’s economy in the coming years. Recently, the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) was pleased to see the end of Alberta’s moratorium on renewable energy project approvals on February 29, as announced on February 28th by by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Minister of Affordability and Utilities Nathan Neudorf. That said, CanREA remains concerned about the considerable level of post-moratorium uncertainty that remains for new projects in the province.
