Quazite®, PenCell® and Armorcast® Systems Deliver ANSI/SCTE 77-Compliant Solutions Across Multiple Load Ratings

Hubbell Canada has expanded its line of underground enclosures for broadband, telecommunications, and utility infrastructure applications, offering contractors and network operators three distinct product families engineered for demanding below-grade environments.

Hubbell Canada Expands Underground Enclosure Portfolio for Broadband and Utility Infrastructure

The Quazite® Polymer Concrete enclosure system combines select-grade aggregates with polymer resin in a fiberglass-reinforced composite that delivers high compressive strength without electrical conductivity — eliminating the need for grounding hardware in most installations. Impact resistance is tested to ASTM D-2444 standards, and the system is available in load Tiers 5, 8, 15, and 22 to accommodate everything from pedestrian pathways to heavy vehicular traffic zones. Many configurations incorporate Hubbell’s EZ Locate™ integrated grounding and locating system, simplifying compliance and asset management for buried infrastructure.

The PenCell® HDPE enclosure family is structural foam molded from high-density polyethylene, offering a lightweight alternative well-suited to large-scale fiber deployments where installation speed and handling ease are priorities. Available with covers in HDPE, polymer concrete, or steel, PenCell® HDPE enclosures meet the same Tier 5 through 22 load range as the polymer concrete line and are ANSI/SCTE 77 2013 compliant.

The Armorcast® enclosures utilize advanced composite construction, combining high-strength fiberglass reinforcement with polymer resin to deliver exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and long-term performance in demanding underground and above-grade applications. Designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, Armorcast® solutions are non-conductive, lightweight, and engineered for superior impact resistance, reducing installation complexity while enhancing safety. Available across a range of configurations and load ratings to support utility, broadband, and infrastructure deployments, Armorcast® enclosures provide a dependable, low-maintenance solution for protecting critical network assets in both urban and rural environments.

All three systems are compliant with ANSI/SCTE 77 2013 and are engineered to support Canada’s accelerating broadband buildout, including CRTC-mandated last-mile and rural connectivity programs.
