Single Phase Pad Mounted Transformer

September 30, 2024

Design Capacities:

These transformers are designed with capacities ranging from 25kVA up to 500kVA. They can accommodate primary voltages of up to 34.5kV and are built with a secondary voltage of 120/240V. Each transformer is custom-built to customer specifications in accordance with CSA C227.3 and C802.1 Energy Efficiency Standards, ensuring both performance and energy efficiency.

Standard Accessories and Features:

The transformers come equipped with a range of standard features for protection and functionality. They include Bay-o-net and current limiting fuse protection for enhanced safety. An engraved aluminum nameplate is provided for easy identification. A pressure relief device is installed to manage internal pressure. Both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) bushings are included. For maintenance, a drain and filling plug is provided. The units also feature a grounding bracket and X0 strap for proper grounding, as well as a parking stand. The exterior finish of the transformer conforms to ANSI C57.12.28 standards, ensuring durability and protection against environmental factors.

Optional Accessories and Features:

Customers have the option to customize their transformers with various additional features. For high contamination areas, an anticorrosion skirt can be added. Load break switches can be installed, with the option for padlocking provision. Monitoring devices such as thermometers and liquid level gauges are available. The low voltage bushings can be customized with stud type or spade type options, and load break inserts complete with dust caps can be added.

Further customization options include customer stock codes and stenciling, bail tabs on the bushing well clamps, and provision for a remote fault indicator light. High voltage off-circuit taps can be incorporated for voltage adjustment. Additional tests can be performed in accordance with ANSI/IEEE C57.12.90 standards. Permanent and/or temporary bar coding labels compliant with ANSI/IEEE C57.12.35 can be applied.

Customers can also specify impedance limits. For enhanced environmental friendliness, FR3 fire-resistant biodegradable insulating fluid (LNAN) can be used. A non-resettable device that detects internal transformer faults, incorporates pressure relief, and provides an external indication can be added for improved safety and monitoring. Lastly, alternative protection devices can be incorporated as specified by the purchaser.
