PUPI Tangent Crossarms at Rexel Utility
May 13, 2026
Pick one up and you’ll see and feel the difference compared to wood or other composite crossarms. PUPI® tangent crossarms weigh significantly less than wood crossarms—with up to six times the strength. A closed-cell polyurethane foam fill provides lightweight, field drillable stability that also prevents moisture and contamination from entering the crossarm. From our industry leading UV protection to our internal bushings, PUPI tangent crossarms are built to last.
This longevity provides a positive total cost of ownership over the life of the crossarm.
Available in centermount, braced, and alley arm applications.
PUPI crossarms are designed for custom specifications or in standard RUS patterns and tested per ASTM-8019 (as shown in the table below). PUPI offers the largest selection of Rural Utilities Service (RUS) accepted fiberglass composite crossarm and deadend assemblies in the industry.

Key Advantages of PUPI’s Fiberglass
60+ year proven service life: SunGUARD® UV coating rigorously tested across multiple climates to maintain effectiveness for at least 60 years. Three-layer protection system is standard on every product.
Zero moisture absorption: Closed-cell polyurethane foam completely fills every crossarm, locking out moisture and contaminants. No freeze-thaw damage, no internal rot.
Up to 6x the strength at less weight: Fiberglass delivers superior load ratings at significantly reduced weight. One PUPI crossarm can replace two wood crossarms.
Non-conductive: Fiberglass provides increased Basic Insulation Level (BIL), eliminating flashover risk at the crossarm. Steel cannot offer this benefit.
Field drillable: PUPI crossarms can be drilled in the field per usage and installation guidelines—adaptable on site, not just in the shop.
