RAM President, Joe Di Placito Receives 2026 Site Service Engineering & Design Award
March 10, 2026
RAM is proud to announce our President, Joe Di Placito, P.Eng., PMP, has been awarded the Engineering & Design Award at the 2026 Site Service Awards.
The award recognizes individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to infrastructure delivery. For those who have worked with Joe over the years, the recognition reflects something consistent in his approach, practical thinking, strong partnerships, and a clear focus on project delivery.

Building RAM
When Joe co-founded RAM in 2007, he saw an opportunity to do things differently. At the time, engineering design and construction were often treated as separate conversations. RAM was built on the belief that projects work better when those perspectives come together from the start.
The goal was to combine technical design expertise with real-world construction experience, not as an add-on, but as part of the process. That approach continues to shape how we work across transportation, utilities, marine, infrastructure and energy projects throughout Western Canada.
Over the years, RAM has grown from a small “startup” into a multi-disciplinary infrastructure consulting firm. The growth has been steady and deliberate, focused on strengthening technical depth, building the right team, and taking on projects where we can add value to the communities we work in.
A Practical Approach to Infrastructure
Over nearly two decades, Joe has helped guide RAM’s involvement in some of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects. From complex transportation corridors to urban utility upgrades and major energy initiatives, his approach has consistently emphasized constructability, risk management, safety, and long-term value for owners.
Safety has always remained central. Strong safety performance across major projects reflects a broader culture of accountability and proactive planning that Joe has reinforced since RAM’s early days.
Leadership and Culture
Internally, Joe’s impact is just as visible. RAM’s leadership team has grown alongside the company, bringing together diverse technical backgrounds and perspectives. Our core values of integrity, innovation, safety, sustainability, and fun are practical standards we use to guide decisions, not just words on a page.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion are also embedded in how we hire, develop teams, and engage with communities. Joe has consistently supported expanding access within the industry and encouraging broader representation in engineering and infrastructure.
Looking Ahead
Beyond RAM, Joe remains active in mentoring, industry engagement, and supporting programs that introduce young people to engineering. Investing in the next generation is something he sees as essential to the profession’s future.
This award marks nearly two decades of leadership at RAM. More importantly, it reflects the collective effort of the team, the engineers, project managers, field staff, and partners who bring projects from concept through construction every day.
