Hydro One Upgrading John Transformer Station in Downtown Toronto

Hydro One will invest approximately $21 million in upgrades at the John Transformer Station in downtown Toronto.
Upgrades include the replacement of two transformers that reached the end of their service life, as well as upgrades to disconnect switches, and protection and control equipment.
To move the nearly 75,000-kilogram transformer – the weight of approximately 50 cars – took incredible coordination and required an industrial crane to lift the transformer over the station’s wall.
