NOTL Hydro Now Offering Green Button

Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro (NOTL Hydro) is now offering Green Button access to its customer data. Green Button is a standard which allows customers to access their data in a consistent manner across all locations and utilities (gas and electric) in Ontario.  With a simple and secure process, customers will be able to securely download (access) or connect (share) their energy usage data in an industry-standard format with registered third parties. As such, this tool will be particularly useful for customers with multiple locations.

Hydro-Québec inaugurates the Romaine complex, its largest hydroelectric complex since Baie-James. Its four generating stations have now all been commissioned. The complex has an installed capacity of 1,550 MW and annual energy output of 8 TWh—enough to supply 470,000 households. Its energy is clean, renewable and available on demand, and contributes directly to Québec’s prosperity and decarbonization.

Recently, Hydro One announced it is expanding its myEnergy Rewards program to help more customers save money by reducing their electricity use during periods of high energy demand. The program currently rewards Hydro One customers who own a smart thermostat with financial incentives for reducing their energy use during the summer months.
